WhaleMap does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or scientific reliability of any sighting. Observations may be unverified, approximate, or crowd-sourced.

3. Responsible Use

You agree not to use this website to harm wildlife, harass marine animals, or promote unsafe or unethical whale watching practices.

4. User Submissions

When submitting a sighting you confirm that:

• You have the right to share the data.
• Your submission contains no personal or identifying information about other people.
• Your submission will be shared publicly under the CC-BY 4.0 license.

5. Intellectual Property

The website code is licensed under the MIT License. External biodiversity data remains under its original license (primarily CC-BY 4.0). Please refer to the Data Licensing page for details.

6. Limitation of Liability

WhaleMap is provided “as is,” without warranty. The creators are not liable for any damages resulting from the use of the website or the data displayed.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site means you accept the revised terms.
